Professional info

  She started her entertainment career as a makeup artist and GoGo dancer in Atlanta, Georgia in 1997. She worked with legendary DJ's Nabs(Club Kaya, In the Lab with DJ Nabs) and DJ Drama(Crescent Room). In 2001, she was chosen to be one of 26 contestants out of 1,000 girls across America. The competition was for the very first music reality TV show on  the WB Networks, "PopStars". There she honed her skills and realized she was better suited to be a solo artist. Around this time, she worked with India Arie,Anthony David, Donnie, Gaelle and El Pus. She recorded background vocals on Virgin Recording Artists El Pus' "Hoodlum Rock" and danced for many local artists at that time.

  Around this time, the art world came calling and she began figure study modeling for some of Atlanta's finest visual artist,painters, photographers and art schools. She figure study modeled from 2002-2007.  In 2004, she was discovered by V103 Radio Host/Comedienne Wanda Smith. Wanda was so taken with Madam CJ's vocals and comedic timing, that she hired her to perform in her stage play "Wanda Smith and Friends" 3 years in a row at the Atlanta Civic Center. In 2005, Madam CJ appeared in Tyler Perry's "Madea's Family Reunion" and also began working with Rahbi Raw.

  Madam CJ has been writing and performing with her live music outfit since 2003. She has hosted numerous live shows from 2003-present. In 2010 and 2013 she opened for Janelle Monae with,Rahbi Raw. In 2012 she received a Grammy consideration for "Best New Artist" for her self-written EP "That's Madam 2 U!" and became a member of the Recording Academy. In 2017, she got a chance to work with Martin Sheen and Chiwetel Ejiofor in the Netflix film, "Come Sunday", the story of Bishop Carlton Pearson. In 2018, she hosted AfroPunk ATLANTA Green Stage. 

 

Since 2001, she has been very active as a Teaching Artist, Social Justice, Human, Girls and Women's Rights Activist. She has worked with youth and social justice movements such as: the Boys and Girls Clubs of America, Girl Scouts of North Georgia, AIDS Walk Atlanta, Harper Archer Middle School, Coretta Scott King Young Women's Leadership Academy, Truly Living Well and We Vote We Rise.

The Netflix production is a Biopic about the life of Bishop Carlton Pearson and his revolutionary message on Heaven and Hell. I play a choir member in the film. It debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in the Top 10 films.

Al Mandaloun NightClub

Performed 4-6 nights a week with a 12 piece Lebanese band for 3 months at the number one nightclub in Beirut, "Al Mandaloun Nightclub" in Mar Mikahel". Songs performed: "Crazy in Love": 50 Shades of Grey version by Beyonce, "Simply the Best" "What's Love Got to Do With It" by Tina Turner, "Smooth Operator" by Sade, "I'm Outta Love" Anastacia, "Happy" by Pharrell, the Rock Show medley-"Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple, "I Love Rock and Roll" by Joan Jett and "Are You Gonna Go My Way" by Lenny Kravitz.

Nominated for Grammy Award, "Best New Artist" for my EP, "That's Madam 2 U!" This great honor made me eligible to become an associate member to the prestigious recording organization. Madam Cj is my live music performance act. I released two eps, "Juke" in 2009 and "That's Madam 2 U!" in 2011.
